![]() A recent study (Davis et al) in the Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine analyzed the cost of care for neck and back pain in the USA. They looked at a Medicare population in the USA in 2010-2011 and the results were interesting. "Results: We found a positive association between regional supply of chiropractic care and PCP services ... An inverse association between supply of chiropractic care and the number of annual visits to PCPs for back and/or neck pain was apparent. The number of PCP visits for back and/or neck pain was 8% lower ... in the quintile with the highest supply of chiropractic care compared to the lowest quintile. We estimate chiropractic care is associated with a reduction of 0.37 million visits to PCPs nationally, at a cost of $83.5 million." The full article may be found here for the full numbers, research, and methodology. The whole point is people receive quality care with chiropractors and it lowers the cost to the patient and our country. Is this quality and lowered cost worth it to you, your parents, your grandparents, and your community?
